The Impact story of Giddaloor Village

Agriculture is the backbone of our country. However today, the farmers are suffering due lack of water and unable to break even. SIF, founded by NRIs has been helping farmers in various ways to make profits and create a sustainable model. APS representative Nagireddy Prabhakar Reddy has been helping in the Nellore and Prakasam districts with drumstick, turmeric and sugarcane crops. The organization is contributing to the growth by Borewell recharge projects and computer awareness and education by distributing tablets in public schools.

SIF was also featured in the local newspaper for outstanding work in this area.

Drumstick crop thru Drip
Around 20 farmers were supplied with raw material for 50 acres of drumstick crop. 2.3 lacs worth of saplings were donated for free in association with goverment’s  drip agriculture project.

Elated Farmers
Farmers are elated as 15 tonnes of yield amounting to 1.5 lacs was possible with the help of SIF. Their efforts can now assure their kids’ eduction for another year. They are hopeful of another 2 lacs of yield and would preserve the stems for the next crop. They have expressed their gratitude for SIF.

Borewell Recharge
20 farmers were picked and 30 lacs were spent @15K per farmer to help with Borewell recharge project. The project helped the farmers a great deal .

Technical education
SIF has donated tabs at various villages in Giddaloor mandal to help kids gain technical skills at school level.

Service
In addition to farmers basic needs, SIF also endeavors to help in every way possible. A person from Bestwaripeta ,who lost his leg in an accident was provided financial assistance of 32K towards Jaipur foot .

Organic Farming
Nagi Reddy Orabhakar Reddy mentioned that SIF is ready to provide assistance to farmers venturing into Organic farming with manure and supplies. SIF will also ensure the farmers get the right price for their organic produce.He also asked the farmers to consider going organic given the increasing demand for Organic produce.
